Hello lovelies! As we swelter through a heatwave together, the Voidspace is here to give you something cool. 

July’s shows – from minigolf to Troy, via a ghost marriage, the manosphere and chamber music – are looking magical

For those of you who’d rather keep cool indoors, there’s a decent selection of online offerings for those of you who would rather stay indoors, including Beyond the Safeword,  a workshop from your very own Void in Chief about how to make your experiences safe AND fun (hint: the two actually go together very well…)

We’ve also got some summer reading lined up for you, as Voidspace in Conversation kicks back into gear with interviews with festival 1:1 artists Mikey Damager, King Lexie and Marcus Round. Many more to come, so watch this (Void)space.

If that weren’t enough, it’s not long until August’s London and Edinburgh fringes kick off: check out these immersive offerings at Camden Fringe and this Edinburgh guide from our friends at Immersive Rumours for a sneak peek…

Running as part of London Data Week, it will feature a range of events from talks to workshops to performance nights.

  • Bury Me Before You Marry Me – One day a British man realises that his Chinesse girlfriend has been involved in a ghost marriage. A dark comedy, an immersive interactive theatre experience – every choice will completely change the direction of the story and as a result, each performance leads to a different fate for the characters.

  • Bridge Command – Ever wanted to fly your own starship? Fully interactive adventures in space from the team behind Parabolic Theatre. Read our conversation with Director Owen Kingston. Bridge Command has recently celebrated being in action for two years and has launched new Frontline Missions where participants can expect to be deployed into active warzones with intense, large-scale scenarios, tactical coordination between multiple ships and moral decisions under pressure. From 19-24 May, all other mission types will be suspended to focus on Frontline Missions and then they will become a permanent feature after that.
