Welcome to our April Dispatches, from our very own blog!
As the sun (finally!) begins to come out, we at the Voidspace are seeing our own period of growth and renewal.
For the first time we are presenting Strange Play, a festival of experimental games and playable performance, as part of London Games Week (thank you Games London!)
In true Voidspace style, we started with one event, which grew into two, which spawned another couple, until we ended up with a programme an 20+ piece playable art exhibition, an interactive cabaret night, an online show, a strand of LARP, Jubensha and other playable performance, a makers’ meet and a pizza party…
Never say we don’t make use of an opportunity here in the Voidspace!
The online component – Seth Kriebel’s beautiful exploration show The Map and the Echo performed online for the first time, represents something particularly important to us: the chance to share work with folks outside of London (and even outside the UK – the times are US friendly, folks, just sayin’…)
We hope this is the start of finding ways to make the Voidspace more accessible to everyone.
All that is on top of getting onto the starting blocks for Voidspace Live 2026. With a programme of 40+ artists it’s looking to be the biggest one yet. Programme announcements will start in May so watch this (Void)space…
One of our favourite things about throwing ourselves into these various flavours of madness is the chance to get to see some of you in person.
We really do love meeting this wonderful community, so do say hi if you spot anyone in black looking a bit tired.
The Void loves you! 🖤
