Halim (he/him/they/them) is a Lebanese poet and programmer based in San Francisco, whose work bridges digital and physical mediums to explore themes of immigration, alienation, and identity. Drawing from Arabic Zajal, modern Beirut theatre, and influences like BPNichol and Stephanie Strickland, Halim creates digital poetry and electronic literature that challenge the impersonal nature of the internet. Currently, as a resident at Gray Area and Counterpulse, Halim is developing “Deserve It,” a six-hour durational performance highlighting the migration journey.
With a background in quantitative finance, machine learning, and product management, Halim has published four books of poetry and integrates technology and whimsical user interfaces into poetic experiences on oulipo.xyz. Find him on IG and X at @yalla_halim
