Payment: £100-200+

VOIDSPACE LIVE

The Voidspace is an organisation that explores and platforms interactive arts. 

We love performances, texts, games and multimedia pieces that invite their audience to participate in some way, in addition to watching, reading or listening

Think interactive theatre, fiction and poetry, performance art, arthouse games, audio-visual work, LARP, and playful media of all kinds. 

On 7 – 8 June 2025, we are taking over Theatre Deli Leadenhall Street, London (our festival associates and creative partner) to present Voidspace Live 2025, a weekend-long festival of interactive arts. 

Voidspace Live 2024 showcased a range of interactive performance and installation pieces that invited the audience to interact in various ways. You can see the programme here.

OPEN CALL

For Voidspace Live 2025 we are looking for the following types of interactive works:

linear performances (up to 90 minutes);

participatory creative workshops (60-90 minutes);

durational / installation pieces (4 hours or longer);

micro-LARPs (1-2 hours); and

installations and exhibits (including audio & audiovisual work, art-house games and more)

We can offer:

The following minimum payments:

– £200 per linear or durational performance

– £200 per workshop

– £200 per LARP

– £100 per exhibit 

– A possible extra payment in addition to the above minimum, subject to Voidspace Live securing additional funding (not guaranteed)

– The opportunity to apply to the Voidspace’s mentorship programme 

– The chance to be part of the UK’s most varied and exciting interactive arts community

SELECTION PANEL 

Applications will be assessed by a panel with a broad range of experience across the interactive arts world:

Arathi Suresh : a theatre practitioner and dancer. As the Artistic Director of Hitcher Encounters, she is the creative force driving every concept to production within the company.

CN Lester: a multi-genre musician, author of the critically-acclaimed Trans Like Me, and founder and artistic director of arts event Transpose at Barbican. They are performing in the interactive opera Uncanny Things trilogy; and facilitated of We Sing / I Sang at Voidspace Live 2024.

 – Dominika Ucar: is a director, performer and visual artist born in London. She studied Painting at the University of Edinburgh before her Masters in Advanced Theatre Practice at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She brings with her an interest in design-led making and the blurring of artistic disciplines.

Katy Naylor: is a writer and dramaturg specialising in interactive work, the editor in chief of the Voidspace, and Lead Producer of Voidspace Live. She is passionate about interactive arts of all kinds.

Hazel Dixon: a researcher and designer from Newcastle-upon-Tyne. They are currently the Inclusion and Ethics Research Fellow at CoSTAR National Lab – focusing on how to build equity in immersive and emerging technologies. In addition, they are a larp and escape room designer,

Mark Ward: a poet, editor and workshop facilitator from Dublin, Ireland. His 2024 chapbook Faultlines, an interactive branching sonnet about breakups, was voidspace press’ first print publication. He created Random Acts: A Generative Poetry Workshop for Voidspace Live 2024.

Rudy Johnson: designs games, writes, and creates interactive experiences, and \is the co-founder of Misery Tourism (https://www.miserytourism.com), a home for outsider artists of all kinds.
